Legato Healthcare Marketing Reveals Takeaways from Midwest Healthcare Marketing Study

September 13, 2012 - Green Bay Legato Healthcare Marketing commissioned a 2012 Midwest Health Care Study, the results of which are surprising - and significant - for rural hospitals.

Looking at five different age groups, ranging from 20 - 69 years old, the survey results reveal important insights into their beliefs about local hospitals and motivators for using community hospitals. Insights include:

  • Loyalty to physicians versus hospitals
  • Quality of local healthcare
  • The believability and value of healthcare advertising
  • Preferred ways to receive information about healthcare and hospitals

Healthcare decision makers from 1,000 households in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin completed the survey. Fifty percent of respondents were from rural communities and the other fifty percent were located in mid-sized cities.

Because of its national implications, the study's key insights were recently featured in the October issue of Spectrum, a publication of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD).
